"Oh - I've been smoking
for so long. It goes with everything I do. I have a
cigarette in the morning with my coffee, I smoke after
I eat
I smoke when I'm on the phone, in the car,
and when I have to think. How could I ever continue
to do all of those things without my cigarettes! I know
how bad it is - I feel the effects everyday when I climb
the stairs or try to take a deep breath. Not to mention
the cost! I could take a really nice vacation at the
end of the year if I could just give up smoking. I'd
love to quit for good. But nothing has worked for me.
I always go back."
Jim
smoked 18 years and tried to quit 6 times before joining
Virtual Health Coach. He thought it was strange
and interesting that the program included a learning
style assessment. Coach Kerrbie showed him that the
way he learns best is through his sense of smell. To
improve his chances of quitting, he built "favorite
smells from the past" into his plan along with
other proven strategies. Now, whenever he gets the urge
to smoke, Jim takes a whiff of his old baseball mitt,
which brings back great memories of a time when he was
young, healthy, and didn't smoke. He takes it with him
everywhere he goes. That good smell of childhood gets
him past an urge to smoke.
If your old way of quitting doesn't keep you quit,
perhaps you need a new approach.
Virtual Health Coach can improve your chances of quitting
for good by addressing the psychology of change. Give
Coach Kerrbie a try.
